· During the war in 1947-49, between 8000-15,000 Arabs, military and civilian were killed, and approximately 750,000 Palestinian Arabs--over 80% of the population in what would become Israel--were expelled from their homes and became refugees, who are NOT allowed to return to Palestine, even for a visit!!!
TODAY…
· In the West Bank, where there is NO HAMAS, according to the UN:
o There are 645 physical obstacles that restrict Palestinians’ access to their jobs, farms, schools, relatives, and hospitals.
o 712 km (442.4 mi)- long wall (65% completed) that isolates Palestinians from their farmland.
o Palestinians with West Bank IDs are required to obtain Israeli permits to go to Jerusalem or cities outside of the West Bank.
o Access to 20% of the West Bank is prohibited by Israeli military.
o At least 10,550 Palestinians are in Israeli custody, nearly 40% held without charge (npr.org).
o Al Jazeera reported that between 2000-2023, 12,000 children have been detained by Israeli forces.
o From 2008 - Sep. 2023, 6,407 Palestinians were killed by Israel. During the same period, the UN recorded the death of 308 Israelis (thewire.in).
· $$3.8 billion from your tax money goes to Israeli support, EVERY YEAR!!
· In 2007, Israel enforced a lockdown on GAZA, depriving its more than 2 million residents from having access to a normal life (hrw.org).
· Gaza has been an open-air prison for 17 years.
Since Oct. 7th, 2023:
- Israel has killed at least 35,173 in Gaza; at least 79,061 injured, and at least 10,000 are under the rubble.
o More than 15,103 are children (Aljazeera.com). At least 500 healthcare workers (tass.com), and at least 130 journalists have been killed (https://www.aa.com.tr/), (www.reuters.com)
o Over 900,000 housing units have been bombed, and more than 90% of educational institutions have been damaged, according to a UN report (aljazeera.com).
§ 31 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are out of service.
o More than 1.9 million people in Gaza — over 85% of the population—are displaced. 1.5 million homeless.
- Israeli army and settlers have killed 485+ Palestinians, injured 4900+, & 7350+ detained in the West Bank (www.palestinechronicle.com) (Aljazeera.com) (MiddleEastMonitor.com). Where there is NO HAMAS.
